Presenting works from the Würth Collection alongside specimens from the Strasbourg Zoological Museum it includes work by Max Ernst, Georg Baselitz, Gerhard Richter, Ray Smith, and Barry Flanagan.
In 1981 the most comprehensive Rodin exhibition to date opened at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Flanagan travels to visit it and the experience proved seminal to his output; in 1985 he made his first version of The Thinker, a motif he repeatedly visited in his practice from then on. ‘Larger Thinker on Computer’ (2003) is included in the exhibition.
